WFTGA’s Tour Guide Training in Cyprus

Sixteen selected tourist guides around the globe were selected and have undergone rigid training at “Train the Trainers” Program of the World Federation of Tourist Guides Association (WFTGA) in Cyprus, Europe. It was held at the training center at University of Cyprus. I was fortunate enough to be selected as one of the chosen few representing the Philippines and the only Asian in the group.

The two-week training aims at enhancing the tour guiding techniques and enabling the participants to be the best tour guide trainers in our respective countries. Lead by President Emeritus Titina Louzidou, together with Lead International Trainers Anastacia of Greece and Steven of Australia, the 16 participants are expected to train tour guides in their countries and become National Trainers of WFTGA.

With high hopes of becoming National Trainers, the participants geared up their best from November 3 to 16, giving their potentials in full. The training committee selected the best applicants from the USA, Scotland, Canada, Germany, Denmark, Bulgaria, Mexico, Peru, Greece, Cyprus and the Philippines.
